Our substrate blocks are produced from premium oak (Quercus sp.) sourced from the Taihang Mountains in northern China. This region is known for its dense, slow-growing hardwood forests, yielding timber with exceptional structural density and nutritional composition.

• Diameter Requirement: Cross-section diameter must exceed 10 cm. Smaller-diameter logs lack the density needed for optimal substrate compaction and nutrient retention.
• Structural Integrity: All logs must be free of hollow cavities and internal rot. Compromised wood structure reduces mycelium attachment surface area and nutrient bioavailability.

After crushing, all wood chip batches undergo comprehensive physicochemical analysis at Qihe Bio's dedicated Research Institute.

Lignin is the primary carbon source utilized by fungal mycelium during substrate colonization. A lignin content of 35% provides:
